My Background
I’ve been running and competing for over 20 years, across everything from road 10Ks and marathons to trail and mountain ultras. I started out on the roads, where I enjoyed working on pacing, speed, and the competitive side of racing.
After moving to Italy, I discovered the mountains—and with them, a new passion for trail running, along with hiking, climbing, and via ferrate. The variety of terrain and the physical challenges of climbing and descending opened up a completely different side of the sport for me.
As I moved into longer distances, I became more aware of the mental side of running and how much you learn simply by doing. Each race has been a chance to reflect, adapt, and improve.
Alongside running, I’ve spent many years working as a teacher, and that naturally shapes how I approach coaching. I’m always learning, keeping up with current sports science, and I enjoy helping others understand the reasoning behind their training.
For me, it’s important that you not only follow a plan, but feel confident making your own decisions—both in training and when challenges come up during a race.
